At Ascension of Spirit, we are dedicated to the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information. We believe in honouring your liberty to choose what personal information you wish to provide, and how it will be used. We believe in only receiving and storing personal information that you wish to give, so that you receive excellent service and assured privacy of your personal information. We believe in upholding respect and dignity for you and your private information.
Our vision is to provide you with exceptional service and privacy that meets and exceeds Canadian provincial and federal privacy law requirements within the British Columbia Personal Freedom of Information Act (PIPA) and the Canadian Federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
We will not rent or sell your personal information to anyone, for any reason. When working with trusted third-parties to provide you with the services you wish to receive, we will ensure that their privacy policies are in alignment with this privacy policy for the purpose of protecting your personal information. We value your privacy and keeping your personal information confidential. We believe in storing your information, and operating in such a way, to honour and protect your privacy.

This Ascension of Spirit Privacy Policy outlines the principles and practices we follow in accordance with PIPA and PIPEDA to uphold confidentiality, security and accuracy of your personal information, and how you can request access to review and correct your personal information.
By giving your personal information to Ascension of Spirit, or by using Ascension of Spirit websites, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy and providing expressed or implied consent that Ascension of Spirit may collect, securely store, use, disclose and dispose of the information according to this privacy policy. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the Ascension of Spirit Privacy Officer (see section 9.) Ascension of Spirit reserves the right to change this policy at its sole discretion, and without notice. Ascension of Spirit will notify you if there are significant changes to this privacy policy, and to receive your consent before implementing changes to the treatment of your personal information that are different from the previous privacy policy.
This policy has been created to be in parallel with the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Canadian federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). PIPA and PIPEDA contain laws that specify ways in which businesses and organizations may gather, utilize and disclose your personal information.

- What is Personal Information?
Personal information is information that can identify an individual, including any factual or subjective information about the individual. Your name, home address, social status and opinions, are all examples of personal information.
- Collection of Personal Information
(a) When you first contact Ascension of Spirit directly (e.g. in-person, by phone, email, or social media) or visit www.ascensionofspirit.com or any other website owned by Ascension of Spirit, you may choose to voluntarily provide:
- your name
- your phone number, email, social media identity or another method of contact
- your questions, feedback and preferences
- other personal information about you
- We will only collect information for the following purposes:
- to verify your identity
- to return your call, email or message
- to respond to your questions, feedback and comments
- to discover your needs and preferences to help provide you with valuable content, and share with you information about products and services that truly serve you
- to follow up with you after a communication (phone, email or internet messaging)
- any other activity necessary to provide you with the product, service or communication that you wish to receive

(b) When you sign up or request to be on an email list, fill out a registration form, book a session, or purchase a product or service, you may choose to provide your:

- opinions, feedback and preferences
- financial information to purchase a product or service
- This information is collected for the following purposes:
- to identify you
- to provide customer service for requested products or services, such as booking appointments, invoices or receipts
- to send you important website, service, company changes or policy updates
- to complete a sale or transaction
- registration for an in-person or online seminar, workshop or demonstration
- to add you to a mailing list or membership in a group
- to provide you with information about promotions, referrals, products and services that may interest you
- to discover your preferences to understand what kinds of communications, notifications and promotions you would like to receive
- to understand your needs and preferences to create new products and services that truly serve you
- to provide coaching services over the phone, Skype, email or in person
- to increase the quality of your coaching sessions and improve customer service
- any other activity necessary to deliver the best service to you
(c) When you visit www.ascensionofspirit.com or any other website owned by Ascension of Spirit, or sign up for the email list, some information about you may be collected automatically:
- information about your device e.g. IP address, operating system, browser ID (only the companies that provide services for the Ascension of Spirit website(s), the email list and payment services receive this information, to provide you with the website, email list, and/or payment services.)
- information about your interaction with an email (e.g. dates and times that you have accessed an email, metrics regarding delivery of emails)
- tracking technologies, such as cookies, pixels and web beacons may collect information regarding your interactions with the email list service
- information about your interaction with Ascension of Spirit website(s) (presented to Ascension of Spirit as mass, anonymous data)
- This information is collected:
- to provide you with the Ascension of Spirit website(s) and email list services
- to improve the Ascension of Spirit website(s) and email list services to better suit your preferences, and truly serve you

Ascension of Spirit will put in every effort to keep your information as confidential as possible.
- Consent for collection of your personal information
When you visit the Ascension of Spirit websites, or contact Ascension of Spirit through in-person meeting, email, phone or social media, and provide personal information, you are providing implied consent for your information to be collected and used for the purposes listed in part 2(a).
When you have provided your email address to sign up for a mailing list, fill out a registration form, book a session, or enter information to purchase a product or service, you are giving your expressed consent for your information to be used for purposes listed in part 2(b).
You may withdraw your consent (“opt out”) at any time by providing reasonable notice. You may choose to completely withdraw your consent, or choose to withdraw consent for specific uses of your personal information. If you choose to opt out, Ascension of Spirit is required, according to PIPA, to provide you with an explanation about possible complications associated with your decision to withdraw consent. For example, without access to your email address, Ascension of Spirit may have difficulty sending you a product or service that you have ordered. However, you may choose to opt out of the email list, and instead, continue receiving other important emails from Ascension of Spirit.

- Confidentiality of your personal information
Ascension of Spirit evaluates the privacy policies of third parties to ensure that their privacy practices are in alignment with this privacy policy. Ascension of Spirit will never sell, rent or give away your personal information.
Ascension of Spirit will only share your personal information with a third party outside of our business:
- to provide a product or service that you have requested, or a product or service related to your request, such as sending an invoice
- to provide you with high-quality customer care, products and services, surveys, and to keep your personal information secure
Ascension of Spirit will only disclose your personal information without your consent in the following situations:
- in emergency situations that threaten an individual’s life, health or personal security
- when personal information is accessible from a public source (e.g. a telephone directory)
- when we require legal advice from a lawyer, or to collect a debt or protect ourselves from fraud
- if authorized by PIPA or PIPEDA or required by law
We will not use or disclose your information for any additional purposes without your consent.
- Retention, Storage and Security of Your Personal Information
Ascension of Spirit keeps your personal information for the length of time:
- you prefer to stay in contact with Ascension of Spirit
- you remain on our mailing list
- the appointments are scheduled with you
- for all invoices to be paid
- as required by law
If we use your information to make a decision that directly affects you, we will keep your personal information for at least one year, so that you have a reasonable opportunity to request access to your personal information.
Written personal information is kept in a locked, filing cabinet, and information stored electronically is protected with a password and/or encryption, and a firewall. If your personal information is stored electronically, it will be removed by being shredded with shredding software. If your personal information is on paper, it will be shredded and then promptly disposed.
- Ensuring Accuracy of Your Personal Information
Ascension of Spirit will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that your personal information is complete and accurate. Ascension of Spirit may contact you to correct any errors or update the personal information that you have chosen to provide. You are also welcome to write to Ascension of Spirit to correct any inaccuracies that you have noticed in your personal information. Ascension of Spirit will review your written request to correct your personal information, and then amend the errors and omissions as soon as reasonably possible. Ascension of Spirit will send a corrected copy of your personal information to each organization that may have received an inaccurate copy. If your personal information cannot be corrected immediately, Ascension of Spirit will attach a record of your correction request to the copies of your personal information currently in possession.
- Accessing Your Personal Information
You have the right to access your personal information, how your information has been used, and to whom and which organizations your personal information has been disclosed. To view your information, send in a written request to Ascension of Spirit. You may be asked to provide your identity before accessing your personal information in order to protect against identity theft. If a minimum fee applies, we will inform you of the cost, and await your decision before proceeding.
Ascension of Spirit will provide you with your personal information within 30 business days after it is requested, or will contact you in writing if more time is needed.
Ascension of Spirit may be required by PIPA, PIPEDA or another law, to decline access to your personal information. If Ascension of Spirit declines access to your personal information, you will receive a written statement, which will include the reasons why you have been refused access and the available steps that you can take.
- Policy Regarding Children’s Information
The Ascension of Spirit products and services are currently designed for adults and a general audience at this time. We do not knowingly, or intentionally, collect information from children and youth under the age of 18. If you are aware that a child or youth has provided us with personal information, please let us know, and we will remove the child or youth’s personal information, until the time where we create an appropriate business structure and content specifically suitable for children and youth.

You are welcome and invited to contact us if you have any questions about the privacy policy, to view your personal information, or to send notification where you believe Ascension of Spirit has not followed the privacy policy.
